Machu Picchu visit
June 18, 2002

This peak is Wynapichu at the ruins of Machu Picchu.  We climbed to the top of it.
Here is some of the group on the last ascent to the top of Wynapichu.  Closest to us is Dan Muth, a BMM Missionary in Urubamba.  The others are Chris, Connie and Ashley from BJU.

Drew Hager from BJU

This is Drew Hager from BJU.  He and I lost our way while returning from Jungle area of Quillabamba on June 10th.  God was gracious and allowed us to find our way back although 2 hours late.  While lost in the mountains we found a burro's skull that we each kept a tooth from for memories.  Click here for a picture.
This is Curtis Hearn,  a BJU student, on the very top of Wynapichu.

A view of Machu Picchu city from the top of Wynapichu.
The sun dial in the center of Machu Picchua city.  It is in the geographical center of the city.  It was also the "center" of all activities, social, civic and religious, of the ancient Incas.
